National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day 2018: 4 Ways to Show Support

January 9th is Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, and McCarron Law Firm wants you to “take the “L.E.A.D.” by showing your support! Our law enforcement officers not only keep our cities safe but also preserve our peace of mind. It is critical that we encourage our cities’ protectors, especially with all the negativity surrounding them nowadays. This national day presents us with the opportunity to come together for a great cause. Here are four ways you can show our officers some appreciation:

Use Social Media
Spread the word by changing your profile picture on all social media accounts to the national cops image, sharing a story about a positive experience with police in your area, or posting the C.O.P.S. public service announcement on your timeline.

Get Involved With Project Blue Light.
Wear blue clothing or display blue lights in your home’s windows during the second week of January to honor those who are serving and those who have passed.

Say Thanks in Person
The simplest and probably the most meaningful thing you can do is express your thanks to a police officer in public.

Organize a Special Event
Dedicate an event or rally entirely to the appreciation of law enforcement. This act requires community involvement, which can further L.E.A.D. advertisement.
Expressing our gratitude can not only lift our police’s spirits but also unify our communities. We recognize the daily sacrifice our law enforcement officers make for our wellbeing. It should be our civic responsibility to pay our respects to those that have died in the line of duty and acknowledge those currently serving through Project Blue Light and other creative ways.
